We are raising the standards, so you can raise your expectations

We may not have a red carpet in our office, but it feels like we do. That’s because while we’re recruiters in the traditional sense, we have an untraditional approach that’s built around your needs. We’re insightful specialists. We’re value creators. We’re opportunity nurturers. And we’re tireless partners who dig deep to find the right people for the right job, every time, so that you get the results you need.

As a Calgary-based boutique firm, we specialize in the recruitment of finance and accounting professionals. Understanding the frustrations that existed in our industry, we set out to create a different type of recruitment firm – one that values quality over quantity and strives to work ethically and efficiently.

We are raising the bar and steering clear of the typical hard sell approach and recruiting with integrity, honesty and highly personalized services. While we’re raising the standards for our industry, we’re raising your expectations too.

Alun started his recruiting career in 2004 in an agency setting in the UK. When he moved to Calgary in 2007, he spent three years in-house leading the regional recruitment for a well-respected National Public Accounting Firm, followed by in-house recruitment positions with a major oil and gas producer and a large Engineering firm.  Alun chose to return to external search in 2011 with the launch of Red Recruitment.

In his spare time Alun can be found on the golf course, enjoying a game of rugby or spending time with his wife and young son.

Ian is a Partner with Red Recruitment and has been actively involved in the Calgary recruiting industry for the last eight years. He has worked with both national and international firms and brings strong agency operational experience to Red. Prior to his recruiting career, Ian was an accountant, and worked for several private companies in the Montreal area, gaining valuable experience and understanding of the accounting world.

Ian joined Red Recruitment in early 2013. He was drawn to the company’s customer service driven culture and their desire to set a new standard for recruitment in Calgary.

When he’s not recruiting, Ian enjoys playing jazz as well as golf and hockey. He can also be found spending time with his wife and two daughters.

Christy joined Red in 2013, bringing a passion for people and an appetite for recruitment from her 18 months in the industry. Christy graduated from the University of New Brunswick in 2010 and quickly found her calling in recruitment and HR, establishing herself well in a fast paced, aggressive agency setting.

Christy has recruited Accounting professionals with some of Calgary’s leading companies, bringing a passion for communicating her clients’ needs to candidates that is beyond her years.

Christy balances work with her love of sports including rugby, golf and field hockey, and has been known to enjoy the occasional beer. Christy spent much of 2013 travelling with her family, including an exchange trip to Bermuda where she acquainted herself with Malibu time.

Carlyn joined the Red team in early 2015, and is a native Calgarian. She graduated from SAIT’s Business Administration Diploma with an Accounting major in 2009, and spent two years in the Accounting field before finding her “niche” as a Finance & Accounting Recruiter in 2011.

Carlyn quickly excelled in the industry with her ability to interpret a diverse array of client needs and identify top tier talent, quickly and directly, successfully working with clients ranging from small organizations to global publicly held corporations. She has a passion for business, enjoys getting to know the professionals she works with and relishes the opportunity to facilitate the right “match” between client and candidate.

When Carlyn isn’t recruiting, she can be found on horseback or coaching riding lessons. She also enjoys spending quality time with her young sons and husband.
