Position Summary

Information Systems provides leadership for the information systems lifecycle needs of our client. More than just having responsibility for the planning, implementation, maintenance and entire lifecycle of corporate software and applications, you will be exposed to cutting-edge marketing analytics in a cloud-based delivery model.

This position requires passion, enthusiasm and a strong desire to learn and deliver industry-leading software and application tools . You are strategic in thought, skilled with the applications development lifecycle and have experience managing software projects and project teams. This position will also manage the implementation of new corporate applications and ensure existing corporate applications are fully supported.

Position Responsibilities

Corporate applications and platforms

  • Day-to-day responsibility for the management of all corporate applications including Dynamics AX, CRM, Exchange and Active Directory
  • Lead or facilitate third-party vendors for application maintenance as well as troubleshooting issues encountered with the corporate applications
  • Align corporate applications with technology strategy

Business development operations

  • Manage and maintain production, UAT, QA and development environments, ensuring stability and security
  • Monitoring/support and disaster recovery of environments
  • Performance tuning recommendations
  • Support build systems, automated builds, automation and automated deployments
  • Application and environment user management

Risk and governance

  • Legislation governance awareness
  • Technology governance identification and awareness
  • Corporate application governance
  • Risk identification and assist with mitigation planning, adoption

Service delivery management

  • Liaise with Senior Leadership Team.
  • Recommend optimization of the cost of IS/IT services and technology
  • Maintain technology-related risks at approved levels
  • Responsible for co-coordinating the delivery of technology services to the organization
  • Manage overall performance of technology services provided to the organization
  • Act as a further escalation point for Service Desk team for IS-related issues
  • Responsible for managing team member expectations, service level agreements (SLAs) and identify areas for improvement

Project management

  • Provide project management activities for all corporate and business technology upgrades, enhancements, replacements ensuring on-time, on-scope and on-budget completion of projects
  • Manage the relationship with third-party service providers to ensure successful completion of projects
  • Assist with procurement of corporate/business applications, hardware and software

Training and development

  • Lead or facilitate the necessary training and development of team members for all corporate/business applications

Business analysis

  • Identify business requirements in addition to functional requirements
  • Identify stakeholder needs, negotiate priorities, and collaborate with project stakeholders
  • Participate as an active stakeholder and gather information as required
  • Perform requirements gathering, as needed

Education and experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer sciences, a related field or equivalent
  • 7-10 years’ experience in an IS management role

Additional requirements

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; proficient in oral and written communication
  • Required to be innovative and adaptive, recommend solutions, and provide advice and guidance
  • Strong leadership and project management skills; PMP certification would be an asset
  • Operational knowledge/exposure to a variety of computer platforms and operating systems, with emphasis on cloud-based delivery methodologies
  • Operational knowledge/exposure to services and activities of information systems and analysis programs
  • Principles and practices of IT service delivery (ITIL, Cobit, etc.)
  • Principles and practices of application and software development, installation and support, with emphasis on cloud-based delivery methodologies
  • Principles of supervision and training
  • Basic budgeting, contracting, vendor management, purchasing practices, policies and procedures
  • Principles and procedures of quality assurance and security related to complex, large computer systems and applications
